Autologous Fat Transfer in Zurich
For natural results with the body's own tissue
What is Autologous Fat Transfer?
Autologous fat transfer in Zurich is a gentle yet effective method to compensate for volume loss, improve contours, and refine skin texture – entirely without artificial implants. In this procedure, the body's own fatty tissue is harvested from a suitable donor area, processed, and transplanted into the desired region.
This technique, also known as lipofilling, lipotransfer, or autologous fat transplantation, is highly regarded for its excellent tolerability and natural results. Since only the body's own tissue is used, allergies or rejection reactions are ruled out.
- Harvesting of autologous fat through gentle liposuction from the chosen donor area
- Preparation of the harvested fatty tissue
- Transplantation into the target area for natural volume
In many cases, one session is sufficient; for larger volume requirements, a repeat session may be advisable.
- Natural material: No foreign substances, no rejection reactions
- Long-lasting results: A portion of the transplanted fat remains permanently
- Regenerative effect: Contained stem cells promote skin quality and wound healing
- Combination of two effects: Liposuction in bothersome areas and volume enhancement where desired

Frequently Asked Questions
After autologous fat transfer, the body reabsorbs a portion of the transplanted fat in the first few weeks. However, the remaining fat integrates with the surrounding tissue and usually remains permanently. The durability can be many years, but is influenced by factors such as weight fluctuations, lifestyle, and the natural aging process.
Since fat harvesting and transplantation are performed using very fine cannulas, only tiny skin incisions are made. These usually heal quickly and leave inconspicuous, often barely visible scars. With good care and protection from sun exposure during the healing phase, these are usually practically invisible later on.
The method is considered very safe because only the body's own tissue is used. This means no allergic reactions or rejection processes occur. However, as with any surgical procedure, there are general risks such as infections, swelling, or uneven volume distribution. With an experienced specialist, these complications are rare.
For smaller corrections or wrinkle treatments, hyaluronic acid fillers can be used. These usually need to be renewed after about one year. Implants are also possible for large volume changes.
