Who is a breast lift suitable for?

A breast lift is suitable for women who suffer from sagging breasts. The most common causes are pregnancy and breastfeeding, weight loss, age-related changes, or genetic predisposition. If the nipple lies below the inframammary fold and the breast has lost its original shape, a breast lift surgery can restore the natural contour. The procedure tightens excess skin, lifts breast tissue, and optimally positions the nipple.

How does the preoperative preparation proceed?

How does the preoperative preparation proceed?

Before every breast lift surgery, a detailed consultation takes place. Our surgeons examine the condition of your skin, the elasticity of the breast tissue, and the position of the nipple. Together, we discuss your wishes and determine the appropriate method – whether with or without an implant. You will receive medically sound recommendations for preparation, such as refraining from blood-thinning medication. All risks and side effects are transparently explained. The safety of our patients is our top priority.

How does the breast lift surgery proceed?

How does the breast lift surgery proceed?

The breast lift is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 2–3 hours. Depending on the initial situation, our surgeons choose the appropriate incision technique: For slight sagging, an incision around the areola (periareolar) is often sufficient; for more severe ptosis, the vertical LeJour method or the T-shaped incision (anchor incision) is used.

During the operation, excess skin is removed, the breast tissue is tightened and lifted. The nipple is repositioned to a higher, aesthetically pleasing position. If necessary, an implant can be inserted at the same time to create additional volume. The skin envelope is carefully adjusted to create a firm, natural shape.

Healing process after breast lift

After the operation, you will wear a compression bra for several weeks, which supports healing and stabilizes the shape. Slight swelling and feelings of tension are normal and subside within a few weeks.

  1. First 2 weeks

Rest, no strenuous physical activities. Office work is usually possible again after 7–10 days.

  2. From week 3–6

Gradual return to light activities. Sports should still be paused.

  3. From 6 weeks

Return to sports activities after medical clearance.

  4. After 6–12 months

The final result is fully visible. Scars fade increasingly.

  5. Follow-up appointments

Regular follow-up appointments and careful aftercare are essential for an optimal result. Our post-treatment includes all necessary examinations to monitor the healing process.

Risks and limitations of breast lift

Like any aesthetic procedure, breast lift also carries certain risks. These include wound healing disorders, infections, secondary bleeding, or sensory disturbances in the nipple area. Incisions result in scars, which usually heal inconspicuously with good care.

Our surgeons minimize these risks through precise surgical techniques, sterile conditions, and comprehensive patient education. Breastfeeding is generally still possible after a breast lift, provided the milk ducts have not been severed. Individual factors such as smoking or pre-existing conditions can influence the healing process – all of this will be discussed during the consultation.

Costs of breast lift

The costs for a breast lift depend on various factors: the extent of the procedure, the chosen method, the duration of the operation, and the clinic stay. During the consultation, we will provide you with a transparent cost plan that includes all services – from preliminary examination to surgery and aftercare. A medically necessary breast lift may be covered by health insurance under certain conditions.
