For naturally full and defined lips

Full, symmetrical and well-defined lips have always been considered the ideal of beauty. If your lips are naturally thin, have lost volume or you would like more contour and freshness, lip injections with hyaluronic acid offer a safe and effective option for aesthetic correction. In our practice, we focus on natural results that harmoniously emphasize your individual lip shape - without appearing artificial.

What is meant by lip injections
with hyaluronic acid?

During lip injections, high-quality, cross-linked hyaluronic acid is injected into specific areas of the lip to build up volume, optimize the shape or accentuate the lip contour. Hyaluronic acid is a substance produced naturally in the body that binds water and therefore provides more fullness, moisture and elasticity. The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis, is well tolerated and the results are immediately visible.

Duration of the procedure

approx. 30-45 minutes

Anesthesia

Generally not necessary. Local anesthesia with cream if required (e.g. when treating the lips)

Durability of the result

Depending on the product, treatment region and individual metabolism, the result usually lasts between 6 and 9 months

Downtime

No to little downtime, possibly slight swelling or bruising for 1-3 days

Final result visible

Immediately visible, optimal result after approx. 5-14 days (after the swelling has subsided)

Costs

From 600 CHF

The exact price depends on the region treated, the amount of hyaluronic acid required and the product used

Reasons for lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid

  • Volume build-up for narrow lips

Many patients want more fullness without their lips appearing exaggerated or unnatural.

  • Compensation of asymmetries

Irregularities between the upper and lower lip can be gently evened out.

  • Emphasizing the lip contour

Hyaluron can be used to precisely sculpt the edge of the lips for clearer definition.

  • Raising the corners of the mouth

So-called "drooping" corners of the mouth can be visually lifted with targeted injections.

  • Moisture and freshness

Hyaluron not only provides volume, but also improves skin quality and provides dry lips with lasting moisture.

How does the

treatment?

A detailed consultation takes place before the treatment, during which your wishes, anatomical requirements and any previous treatments are discussed. On request, an anaesthetic cream can be applied to make the treatment as painless as possible. The injection itself usually only takes a few minutes. You will see the temporary result immediately afterwards - minor swelling or redness is normal and usually subsides within 24 to 48 hours.

Frequently asked questions about lip injections with hyaluronic acid

  • How long does the result last?

The average shelf life of lip injections with hyaluronic acid is around 6 to 9 months. Factors such as product quality, individual metabolism, lifestyle and sun exposure influence the duration. Regular touch-ups help to maintain and gently develop the result in the long term.

  • What are the risks?

Lip injections are very safe when carried out properly by medically trained staff. Possible side effects include temporary swelling, minor bruising or a slight feeling of tightness in the treatment area. These usually subside within a few days. We only use tested, CE-certified fillers from renowned manufacturers.

  • Does the treatment hurt?

The lip area is particularly sensitive, which is why we apply an anesthetic cream if desired. Most patients find the treatment well tolerated thanks to the fine needles and gentle technique. Many of the hyaluronic preparations used also contain a local anesthetic (lidocaine), which makes the treatment more pleasant.

  • How quickly will I see the result?

The result is usually visible immediately. However, there may be slight swelling or redness immediately after the treatment, which may mask the final effect for a short time. The final result can be easily assessed after around 5-14 days. We recommend avoiding intense heat (sauna, solarium), pressure or strong massaging of the lips during this time.

  • What is a lip flip and when is it useful?

The lip flip is a minimally invasive treatment with botulinum toxin, in which small amounts are injected into the circular muscle around the mouth. This causes the upper lip to relax slightly and roll outwards discreetly. It appears fuller without adding volume. This method is particularly suitable for narrow upper lips, if the lip disappears considerably when smiling or if you would like a more subtle result than with a classic lip injection. The effect lasts for around 2 to 3 months.

  • Can lip injections be performed during pregnancy?

From a medical point of view, aesthetic treatments such as lip injections with hyaluronic acid are not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Although there is no concrete evidence that hyaluronic acid can harm the child, there are insufficient scientific studies on safety in this particular phase of life. Possible risks such as infections or allergic reactions should also be avoided at all costs during pregnancy. We therefore only carry out such treatments once breastfeeding is complete. Your health and that of your child are our top priority.

Correction of undesired results with Hylase

If you are dissatisfied with the result of a previous hyaluronic acid treatment or if asymmetrical, over-corrected or unnatural-looking effects have occurred, it is possible to correct the result in a targeted manner. In our practice, we offer the so-called hylase treatment for this purpose.

Hylase (hyaluronidase) is a medical enzyme that is able to dissolve injected hyaluronic acid in a controlled manner. This allows the treated area to be returned to a largely original state. The effect usually sets in within a few hours. Important to know: Hylase only acts on the injected, cross-linked hyaluronic acid - the body's own hyaluronic acid remains unaffected.

This treatment is used in particular when :

  • the result of a hyaluronic acid treatment is too strong

  • there are asymmetrical or uneven results

  • nodule formation, hardening or swelling has occurred

  • there is a misplacement of the filler

  • a return is necessary before a new, corrective injection

The application takes place under sterile conditions and is individually adapted to your initial situation. Depending on the type and quantity of filler used, a single session may be sufficient. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated until the desired result is achieved.

Our aim is to give you back a natural, harmonious appearance - safely, precisely and medically sound.

If you are unsure whether Hylase treatment makes sense in your case, we will be happy to give you detailed and honest advice in a personal consultation.
